SAN MATEO, Calif., Oct. 18, 2010 – Silicon Valley-based Provade Inc., a leading provider of Vendor Management System (VMS) technology for workforce spend management, announced today that James “Jamie" Parker has joined the company as its Senior Vice President of Sales and will help introduce the company’s proprietary VMS evaluation tool at the upcoming Contingent Workforce Strategies (CWS) Summit in Denver.
Parker comes to Provade with an extensive staffing industry background, including 25 years of executive experience at Adecco, the world’s largest personnel services company. Most recently, he served as the President and Chief Operating Officer for two of Adecco’s U.S. business lines: Engineering & Technical and Medical & Sciences. Parker will be responsible for leading Provade’s sales team and developing strategies to increase the company’s deployments through Managed Service Provider partnerships as well as direct customer relationships.
“Provade’s unique VMS solution has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years, and it was important to bring in someone who could help our executive team build on that momentum,” said Provade Chief Executive Officer Edward Jackson. “Jamie’s vast staffing industry knowledge and experience supporting Fortune 500 companies will be a major asset to our organization.”
Parker will help represent Provade at the CWS Summit on Oct. 19 and Oct. 20, where the company will introduce its new online VMS evaluation tool for mid- and large-sized businesses. The application allows users to take a brief web survey and receive a customized report offering guidance on their contingent workforce strategy and a checklist of VMS selection criteria.
“As our industry grows, helping companies to better understand VMS and choose the right provider are important challenges,” Jackson said. “Our evaluation checklist is a convenient way for individuals to clarify their needs and identify the most important qualities they should look for when selecting a technology partner.”
- The addition of Parker and the launch of the company’s evaluation tool follow two key developments for Provade since August:
A $3 million venture capital investment, which will help the company solidify its product leadership position and expand sales and marketing initiatives
- John Bowmer, former Chairman and CEO of Adecco Group, joined the company’s board of directors, providing the unique perspective of an executive who led the world’s largest staffing company
Provade, which offers the only enterprise-class VMS solution for sourcing and managing contingent labor and services, more than doubled its sales in 2009 and is on pace for a similar result in 2010, Jackson said.
